"There comes a time when silence is a betrayal" I really wanted to speak out  regarding this and thanks for the team Blogadda and Nihar Naturals Shanti Amla, a leading hair oil in the country. And truth is to be spoken at right time. Otherwise, it may be worse than a lie. My mother is a teacher in a government school, but not as a regular government employee, bunking classes. She is an honest woman working for the welfare of children in remote areas. In fact, I learnt the discipline of “Loyalty to the chair” from her. She has been my inspiration many times by profession. She has also suffered from the frequent cut of arrears and bonus amount from her office people for the reason...

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. But there are times when we hold ourselves back and don’t even take that single step. Be it about acquiring new knowledge or mending a relationship – it is never too late to live the life you want to. So, my weekend post is gonna be like this! It’s never too late to fall in love with Harry Potter. I mean the series of Books.Books turn Muggles into wizards and Harry Potter does. Those who are purposelessly wasting time in chats with their crushes and lovers, Those wasting life in desultory conversations with their “EXES”, those who haven’t read any books yet, come on guys!Harry Potter novel is much pleasure than a girl! One day I caught myself smiling for no reason, and then I realized I was thinking of you! Hey it’s really crazy, right? How can I just be apart from you go months and years without talking to you, but still, you cross my mind every day!As much as I dislike all the fuss that is made out of that one day, I must admit, it reminds me of my old friend. The friendship that was close to my heart and is cherished even today. Jeevitha Lena! I mean it. I could recollect the moment when our friendship was born!It was when I was mumbling an item song and you heard it little and found the song. I was embarrassed a bit. After a few seconds, you said, “What? You too like this song?” *LOL* And th...

9 slapped 8.8 asked, "Why did you slap me"?9 replied, "You are inferior to me, so I slapped you."Upon hearing this, 8 went to 7 and slapped 7 harder. When asked by 7 why 8 gave the same reply that 9 said."You are inferior to me".Likewise,7 slapped 6.6 slapped 5.5 slapped 4.4 slapped 3.3 slapped 2.2 slapped 1.Now 1 has 0 as its inferior. But, instead of slapping—1 welcomed 0 with love. Allowed 0 to stand next to it.The duo became 10.Tables turned and it is now number 9's turn to get slapped.Moral:·         Choose your relations wisely.·         A good friend is as worthy as 1000 good books.· &nbs...

One of the greatest lessons that adults can learn from children is the enviable ability to find happiness with simplicity. My cousin's son, have an unconditional love for me and I have fallen for him a few times. Whenever we all get together occasionally he loves to spend time with me solitarily and I have always wondered when all children like him play running here and there, he takes a firm stand to spend his time with me alone. He hugs me often and always wanted to hear the, "when you were me" stories from me.The same stories told him for a dozen times continue to blossom as fresh flowers.Once during a rainy day, when the drops bore down mercilessly upon the heart of the city pounding on ...

For over two decades, a beggar was sitting on a box placed outside a temple, pleading for alms from every shadow that passed by him. One day a master, who was coming out of the temple, walked up to the beggar and enquired, “What is inside this box?” Knowing that he had never received any change from the master, the beggar was not too interested in paying attention to the master. So he disinterestedly mumbled, "what do I know?" never cared to look. I found this box when I turned up here for the first time and ever since I have been sitting on it". The master said,"Just open it and see!"With years of practised lassitude, the beggar was too reluctant to even get rid of the bo...

Some few years back I got a marriage invitation through a post from my friend with whom I spent few years of my schooling. So, I pinged her immediately out of shock to ask her what made her get married so earlier. I could call up those days when I  was seriously competing for the 1st rank with her. But truly she was an overmuch competitor that hardly twice I overcame her! Another thing which intended me is that I know how difficult it is to grab a seat in topmost medical college in TN, especially through government quota. And nothing more, I was disquieted with the reply she gave me. She told me that she has got a princely alliance with gilded family so that her mother doesn't want...

I could call back now when I was studying grade five, every time when I was about to board the school bus, I used to have a rational motive, plainspoken and lie that I suffer from stomach ache shamelessly. My papa knows me very well and despite all my stupid reasons he would nudge me into the bus and wave his hands at me with a smug glow in his face.Have you also suffered from this "School bus stomach ache"?Well, you are not alone! Many at times, I hear the alarm buzz but, I hit the snooze button few times and eventually ask my mom to wake me up & rush to the school without having my breakfast! Now if this too describes your morning routine? Oops, you are not alone! So often I take a...

Today we cannot see many roads without seeing a Honda made vehicle pass by. It has become a super power in the automobile industry now! In 1938, when Honda took his first working sample of piston ring Toyota. It was rejected stating that the sample was not up to their standards. Rather than focusing on the failure, he continued to work on his goal. After two years of redesigning, he finally won a contract with Toyota. He built a factory which was brought down into rubbles by an earthquake.Honda was not a man who would accept failures as a possibility. Recession & depression caused by the war had created extreme gasoline shortage in Japan. So people resorted to walking & cycling....

#Favourite author @ Indiblogger :) :)It was just a dispute quite appealing to mind but a healthy conversation between my friend and me.I said him, “Chetan Bhagat, apart from novelist, young writer and all, I would rather say him a “beginner”, and changed Indian history of writing to turn by degrees to a different stage of advancement.”“He is not doing something that’s never been done in Indian history of writing before. I could give examples of love in all its forms in Tamil Literature alone and they are ancient ones too”, he defended.I laughed out loud and said, “So, you have examples of love in all its forms in Tamil literature. Fine, tell me one such example analogous...

Superman, Spiderman, Marvel Girl … Aren’t we in awe of these fictional characters and their magical superpowers? Naturally, yes! But that doesn’t mean that our lives are ordinary. Apparently, all humans have an innate superpower that we tend to overlook in chasing our daily goals. My secret superpower is, "Going beyond the FINISHING  LINE" Sounds to be crazy! Isn't?  Well, I would like to share how this super power works.Have you ever gone through this experience? You went for a morning jog and ran for a quite decent time and exhausted that you eventually gave up and sat on a bench. Then, all at once, you see a stranger running and now something i...

Life is full of uncertainties. Each day holds a surprise but whether it comes to us as sorrow or joy is unbeknownst to us. On reading the above lines, I could recollect an article which I read somewhere in a magazine or what else I couldn’t call up now. Let me narrate it in my own way for you!As she lounged on the couch with a salad bowl that contained finger fries, she began flipping through the channels. Eventually, she stretched out a bit and before she could recognise the fatigue, she fell asleep. Her husband wouldn’t be home at least for another five hours and the empty house resounded with her soft shallow breathing. As the squeaking sound of the teak wood rocking chair roused ...

"The story of my half relationship"  We were in eighth grade. My Tamil teacher came into the class. The chairs were usually arranged like in an amphitheatre. Every day, before the class commenced, he used to sign our handwriting notes for a perceptible indication that we did not, would not and could not change the date and show the same next day or anything like that to skip those two pages of misery. In the next few minutes, the blackboard proclaimed, ”Thirukural” in bold letters. I sat neither in the first bench nor at the back, but somewhere in the mid of that serpentine arrangement in the left corner & I recollect seriously narrating the Harry Potter & the Order...

Everything that comes into our life should either stay with us and become our strength, or it should leave us and make us free. It should never stay with us and become our weakness.Haven’t we heard about Ivan Pavlov’s effect?Pavlov used to ring a metronome at the same time he fed his dogs. After a while, the dogs which earlier salivated only when they saw and ate their food would now begin to salivate only when the metronome sounded, even if no food were present. Can a man suffer like Pavlov’s dogs? But in reality, that’s what habits are!"If I don’t smoke I can’t do potty; without something to read, I can’t sit on the pot; If I miss any morning tea I will develop a headache; if...

Unremarkably, I’m not that busy as a beaver to be always updating my events on Facebook or tweeting it. But, since a month my works are in need to be prioritized as I was to intervene continuous assessments, model exams, practical examinations etc., from my mandatory curricular activities and so many contests and projects as a blogger and an Indiwriter as well. But, the fact is neither I concentrated on these nor I did a blog post since a month, due to the absence of that kinda “peace of mind”.    I was dull as dishwater and restless since a week and the most upsetting thing was that neither mom nor dad queried me for what made me like this. Yesterday during suppertime, ...

My eyes glazed over, mind drifted off, and a pall descended on me. The only convincing thing was that the class was running to be topped off in next five minutes. And I was definitely waiting for that “unorthodox antidote” to boredom in the classroom. (he …he..)You will be illogically befuddled, but this is me! I’m that one who favours this “unorthodox antidote”, the so-called library in my dictionary! But I’m sure, you’ll not be bemused when you start enjoying the ambience of my college library, that will urge you to be an embodiment of a bibliophile as me!So, I vacated my classroom for next hour which was little leisure, taking my notepad which I regularly used to the libra...

There is a lady in every home, who wakes up earlier than the rest of us and sleeps later than all of us. She does not have casual leave, privilege leave or sick leave. No holidays. Can you surprise her with a special card or gift? Can she be the focus of Valentine's day! What about the man in the house, who has been working to ensure each one of your life is better than his own life? Can you go beyond the curtains of ego and demonstrate your love to him in the most unexpected ways this Valentine's day? He needs you. There is a teenager at your home, who is confused, "Am I an adult or a child?". Can your little one have a date with you this Valentine's day; absolute, uninterrupt...

Memories are the timeless treasures of the heart.Agree???I love those random memories that make me smile, no matter what’s going on in my life right now.It was one such day which will be that random memory for me when I think of my college days even after years. Yeah! I have my communication skills laboratory this semester. I was not able to attend my first lab since I attended an IOT workshop. And my friend informed me later that there was an assignment that needs my attention on random topics by next lab. The workshop dragged for three days & I had so many assignments to be completed from other core subjects. So, I didn’t give much importance to the skills laboratory assignment jus...

There is a modern saying.“Religion is meant by common people as true, by the wise as false and by the rulers as useful”You may all astound why she talks about religion now!We are all Hindu in our class except one who is a Muslim & this Muslim girl incited me to write on Religion now! She is a tall girl with somewhat dark complexion wearing the Hijab. She possesses good qualities of sharing, caring, and helping. But when it comes to the attitude she shows on others regarding the religion it makes me disquieted. Her belief towards other religion was considered to be inferior as compared to her religion which she thought was superior. This superior feeling made her disrespect other reli...

Results for AU-affiliated colleges were announced yesterday! My GPA was 8.8  for last semester and as of now, my CGPA is 8.5!Kicked the gate for it to open, walked fast! My father entered the hall loudly talking to someone on the phone call showing his outrage. After disconnecting the call, he threw the phone on the sofa and screamed, ”Maha! Fetch me some water”My mom came with the glass of water from the kitchen. “The water purifier was under repair for the past two weeks & still it is”, she screamed and kept the glass hardly on the teapoy that the fully filled glass became one-fourth empty.I was doing my own business somewhere by the corner of the hall swinging in the...

The weekend cannot be healing your mind unless you have hectic weekdays. Finally, I gave my feet a rest in the terrace having myself fitted comfortably in the bean bag. The rustling leaves in the terrace and those emerald whorls of fronds susurrating in the breeze added a peaceful soundtrack to the scene and it felt like nature is talking to me. Oh! Not nature actually. Mom! She screamed, “You wanna coffee or boost”. I said her, “coffee ma”. And in minutes, closing my eyes, I enjoyed the cool breeze and the cooing of birds along with my coffee!I rubbed my eyes hard. There sitting around me in cane chairs, sipping coffee holding the handle for portability of that glazed ceramic c...

This poem I wrote to express the feeling of a mother to her grown-up son. I dedicate this all the mothers and I have posted it for you....To my grown-up son....Ask the parents of grown-up childrenAnd they will tell youIt is better to be able to say,” I am glad I did”Than to have to say, “I wish I had”My hands were busy through the day.I did not have much time to playThe little games for you ask me to,I did not have much time for you.I’d wash your clothes; I ‘d sew and cook,But when you’d bring your picture bookAnd ask me please to share your funI’d say “ a little later son”I’d tuck you in all safe at night,Hear your prayers and turn out the light,Then tiptoe softly to t...
