Alibag is a coastal town and a Municipal Counsil in Raigad District in the Konkan region of Maharashtra India. It is also the headquarters of the Raigad District. The town and its surrounding village are the historic hinterland of Bene Israeli Jews. There is a synagogue in the “Israel Ali” area of the town. Vihar Lake is located near Vihar Village on the Mithi River within the precincts of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, in North Mumbai.
