Life with all its blows and bumps is still a journey we lovingly take.. and that is because some fellow travelers make it worth taking the pains.. Here are some of the travelers who deserve a special mention..Ankita Beneath that bubbly and bindaas exterior is a woman with extraordinary grace and poise. Rising from ashes like a phoenix and the world would never come to know about the scars. You have loved me enough to humble my being. I am awfully glad to have you. I hope I get to do more "Toofani" stuff with you in future. And I hope you soar to unconquered heights. You have a priceless heart buddy! I'll miss you terribly.ShilpaI found some part of myself in you. Your presence in my lif...

A bench that I will forever rememberFor words said and heardWords between loneliness and solitudeAnd the path walked up to anotherWords between hurt and numbnessAnd the morphine Words to feel or seem to feelTo pick up the pieces and start againTo live differently from what we areTo be the people we never wereTo run away and come back to ourselvesBut we’re not the same now.Words between suffer and hopeTo light the candle that burns usWords between dreams and realityStanding across the bridgeWaiting with tired gazeFor the hope that has run lateWords between young and oldTo embrace the advice of timeGraying hair, dying forts and barren treesTell the wandering soulsThat shores shall forget th...

From the other side of the glass windowThe city looked at her with indifferenceHer hands had carried the cold from outside numb to the welcoming warmthGloves were meant to be forgotten Her solitude was quickly forgivenBy the generous occupants of the roomAs they returned to their cups and conversationsThe walls were sketched by a wondering handLittle slips in the lines, his only signaturesIn a corner, Ghalib confessed his love for DilliBeside his musings, she took her seatThe calligraphy, done a little over enthusiasticallyMade the words difficult to readOrnamentation beneath its tedious cloaksBuried the simplicity of things“Have a look at our menu ma’am,We have the best coffee from aro...

Let me make a song of every breathWeave a little light into my soulBraid happiness into the whims of my hairAllow myself a smileThe one that I thought I could never affordSearch for a pair of warm handsTo bless my coldness awayMake a coat of ivory cloudsTo wear on my way to the heavensLet me dance to the harps of a cherubOr to the flute of Gokul's princeLet the rains kiss my foreheadAnd whisper little sonnetsLaugh with me till we can love no moreAnd wash my tears awayTell no oneIt would be our secret to keepLet me wash the mirrorsand learn to look in them againTo know that she that I look at were never the strangers we thought each other to beLet her eyes say just onceYou're beautifuland...

No verse to touch, No prose to holdMy part succumbs in the playNo days to feel, no nights to hurtWhisk all my prayers awayOn a black square I standWith a white beside meThe truth I will push awayAnd the lie will hide meDrowned to death and still awakeTo keep one promise forlornRise to hold the morning's throneA million times rebornWhen enough cold will seep throughThe warmth will returnAnd smoldering hopes burst into flamesTo breathe again and burnToday the song is beautifulTomorrow it would sleepTo gift a smiling momentYour's forever to keepOne verse to touch, One Prose to holdTo all the parts I playUnwritten still the author's workAnd moulded in wet clay....

"Kickass Vikas", a great buddy and an even better human being shares a unique experience....===========================================================2006 was a special year for me. That being the final year of graduation, career was of utmost importance. And I had chalked out two viable options for myself (considering the limited potential I possessed). By February, both of them were just a step away from fulfilment. And I, much closer to redemption. For once, everything seemed to go my way. JWith an interview call from Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC) Pune, and a Service Selection Board (SSB) summon to the Air Force selection centre at Mysore, I couldn’t have asked for a...

The four part series is related to a breathtaking trip to Dalhousie.Today...A wall in this room has surrendered and made way for a sheet of glass, and when the curtains hiding it are drawn aside, what you behold will probably sketch itself in immortal ink on the walls of your musing heart. The room overlooks a quiet and breathtaking valley and beyond that, some umpteen rows of hills that finally reach the snow clad Pir Panjal range. The mornings are almost warm, but the afternoons will take you in their cool and gentle embrace. The memories of this afternoon I will place in my crystal jar of priceless memories, as of yesterday and the day before. The clouds came unannounced and danced all ov...

She had touched his heart. He gasped, barely able to breathe. The warmth of his blood surged through. It was like he had been cut open, but he felt no pain. It was like being pinned to the stillness. He lay there motionless, drowning into oblivion, into darkness, slowly....Then she said...."Mam, please come and see my dissection!! I think my frog is dead."...

YO YO!! What a lovely day! Just when my dog is about to drive me to commit suicide with her "Why were you even born woman?" look,God sent a message.. "Dont lose heart darling. There is still some reason to smile and continue." The messenger was Navin ! If you are an Indiblogger, then there is a fair chance that you already know what awesomeness I am talking about. He has very very deservedly received the "The Most Versatile Blogger Award" for which I convey to him my heartiest congratulations! And I am overwhelmed, humbled and truly grateful that he has considered me worth the award as well. Thanks a million tons Navin! Its amazingly generous of you to recognize my humble attempt ...

We all have our shares of awkward moments. Here are some of mine....That awkward moment when you find out that your dog is allergic to you. That awkward moment when you are singing D.K Bose, and your father tells you it meant "something bad" when he was young. That awkward moment when you make that grunting noise while laughing and your beloved sister points it out. (in public)That awkward moment when your father confesses that he thinks that you bear a strong resemblance to music director Pritam. (obviously now am not going to share his picture over here)That awkward moment when you feel more like Bappi Da. Without the gold though. That awkward moment when Linda Goodman describes your laught...

Chapter 1  Chapter 2  Chapter 3 Chapter 4Chapter 5  Chapter 6  Chapter 7  Chapter 8Chapter 9Six years laterThe room was humbly furnished. A single bed, a few chairs and table, cupboard, bookshelves, and her puja. In the center among all the deities, was the daughter's picture. She was lost in thoughts in the midst of prayers."Pray to him, only when you remember him" Kaveri whispered in her ear.She was still here. "When such bonds exist between two souls, they are never broken"She had lived an year more than what the doctors had thought possible. She had agreed to get the treatment done but insisted that it was only the happiness that was carrying her through. She had hea...

All of her existence was to bring to life this very moment.Taarush's word were still ringing in her ears and she still believed that what passed a little while before was a dream. Thing's couldn't turn out so bitter. Their bond wasn't one of blood today. But it was much more than that, it had transcended  lives to keep promises and answer prayers. The room was humbly furnished. A single bed, a few chairs and table, cupboard, bookshelves, and her puja. She saw the father's photo kept in the center of all deities. She could almost hear her say. "You a...

Chapter 1  Chapter 2  Chapter 3 Chapter 4  Chapter 5  Chapter 6  Chapter 7She waited in the drawing room. Things had changed with time. She was having constant visions now. Clear and coherent. The pictures aided them. The Kumbh of 1942, the stampede, she could even recall being trampled upon by hundreds of feet. It made her breathless. She only thanked God that she had not taken Kaveri along. When Sumitra had died, Jayant had promised her that he would never leave Kaveri's side, he would always stand by her and take care of her. He couldn't keep his promise then, but he'll keep it now, almost 60 years after he had left the chapter incomplete.Taarush came in, she had told him, she w...

Chapter 1  Chapter 2  Chapter 3 Chapter 4  Chapter 5 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 It had been years since she had last visited the Hanuman temple. She dreaded coming here in the early years, and when she had finally mustered up the courage, her family had no explanation as to how she knew ever nook and corner of the temple. She even told them how the temple came into existence. Which on verification turned out to be true. It was a mystery then. Today the unusual truth had become a usual part of their lives. She noticed a group of young and exceptionally well behaved and happy children as she entered the temple premises. They were in the company three young adults,a woman and two men. Inspite o...

She decided to join them. While in the temple, she heard some children behind her."When shall we get the prasad wala laddoo?" came the twittering query of a childShe was immensely fond of children. She turned and smiled at them."Be patient Divya, first we will do the pooja and then pandit ji will give us the prasad. Then you will share it with your brothers and sisters.
